Grove, who has competed extensively in the UFC, Bellator and Polish MMA promotion Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki (KSW), is the latest in a long parade of MMA veterans to transition to the wild world of bareknuckle fighting.
Several years ago, former UFC lightweight Melvin Guillard began competing in bareknuckle boxing in the UK, where he realized moderate success. More recently, MMA veterans like Ricco Rodriguez, Joey Beltran, Eric Prindle, Tony Lopez, and former UFC flyweight Bec Rawlings have signed with BKFC. All the above competed at the promotion’s memorable debut show on June 2. Then, of course, there is the controversial Chris Leben vs. Phil Baroni bareknuckle bout that was recently announced. This clash of former UFC middleweight stars will occur on October 20 under the World Bare Knuckle Fighting Federation (WBKFF) banner.
Kendall Grove will make his bareknuckle boxing debut at BKFC 2, which goes down inside the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi, on August 25. At present,Grove does not have an opponent for this debut.
