Kevin Lee issues statement on UFC 216 loss to Tony Ferguson
Last Saturday night, in the main event of the stacked UFC 216, 25-year-old lightweight contender Kevin Lee stepped in to the Octagon with the streaking Tony Ferguson. He did so in an effort to capture the UFC interim lightweight title.

While Lee put up a valiant fight, very nearly finishing Ferguson in the first-round, he was ultimately finished in the third round when he was wrapped up in an arm-triangle choke. Unsurprisingly, this was not the result the young fighter was looking for. That said, he has taken the L with grace.
Late on Sunday night, Lee took to Instagram to issue a statement on his loss to Ferguson. See that statement below:
“I appreciate all the support from everyone,” Lee said in his post. “I put my body on the line for those I love and I tried my best to leave it all out there in the cage. I said it before the fight, Tony Ferguson was the toughest fight of this division. I tried to step up and last night didn’t go my way, but I will be back more experienced and stronger than ever.”
How do you think the young Kevin Lee will respond to this loss? Do you think that with a few more years of experience he can capture lightweight gold?Join the debate in the comments section.
