Khabib Nurmagomedov: UFC is trying to keep me from a title shot

By bjpenndotcom - November 15, 2016

This past weekend in New York, undefeated Dagestani fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov took to the Octagon to fight top ranked UFC lightweight Michael ‘The Menace’ Johnson. The fight, which served as just Nurmagomedov’s second fight back in the Octagon following his two-year layoff from 2014-2016, was an incredibly dominant one for Nurmagomedov, who utilized his Sambo to take Johnson down, and land absolutely brutal ground & pound shots before ultimately submitting Johnson in the third round.

With the win, which impressed famed rapper Snoop Dogg, Nurmagomedov now advances to 24-0 over the course of his professional career, and 8-0 over the course of his UFC career. During his post-fight Octagon interview, Nurmagomedov took the opportunity to call out UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor. Despite that, Nurmagomedov was MIA for a 1 on 1 with media members for his post-fight press conference.

Conor wins

He took to social media to reflect on the win, as well as the situation with the UFC, saying:

Поверьте мне, это далеко не предел моих возможностей, они не поставили меня на пресс-конференцию, они не дали мой заслуженый бонус "Выступление за вечер" И пытаются максимально прятать меня от медиа, чтобы ещё дальше меня держать от боя за пояс. Но они даже не представляют, на сколько сильна моя надежда на Всевышнего. Они типо завоевывают пояса? Но я завоевываю сердца. Listen, this is not a limit of my abilities. They didn't invite me to post fight press conference, didn't give my deserved POTN bonus. Trying to hide me from media as much as they can, so I won't come close to the title fight. But they can't even imagine how huge my hope for God. They like 'win belts'? But I winning people's hearts.
