Khabib Nurmagomedov vows to be back soon, unveils plan for next two fights
UFC lightweight #1 contender Khabib Nurmagomedov has been absent from the Octagon since his dominant UFC 205 win over Michael Johnson, that saw The Eagle pick up a lopsided submission win.
Following his win over Johnson, Nurmagomedov was slated to fight Tony Ferguson for the interim lightweight title, with the winner fighting Conor McGregor for the undisputed title in the future. Unfortunately for both fight fans, Nurmagomedov, and Tony Ferguson, ‘The Eagle’ was hospitalized the night prior to weigh-ins after falling ill.
After being pulled from the card, it was revealed by Nurmagomedov’s teammate Luke Rockhold that ‘The Eagle’ had not been getting blood to his liver, which caused him to become extremely ill.
Nurmagomedov recently revealed in an interview that he was being treated at a medical facility, likely to treat him for the issue with his liver, and that he was targeting a fall return to the Octagon for the long awaited fight with Tony Ferguson.
This was followed up by UFC President Dana White revealing that UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor wanted to return to the Octagon against Nurmagomedov in Russia for his first lightweight title defense following his highly anticipated scrap with Floyd Mayweather on August 26th.
Now, Nurmagomedov has taken to Instagram to reveal his plan for his return, as you can see above.
With a fall scrap against Tony Ferguson and a winter scrap with Conor McGregor on Nurmagomedov’s mind, The Eagle certainly has some big plans for his return!
