With a perfect 29-0 record and having beaten some of the greatest fighters in UFC history, there is no doubt that “The Eagle” is among the best to ever compete in MMA. But is he the undisputed No. 1 GOAT? There are some fans who think so. But if you ask Nurmagomedov, there are seven GOATs.

Khabib Nurmagomedov has taken the time to explain why he thinks Conor McGregor’s trash talk didn’t work against Dustin Poirier. Last Saturday night at UFC 264, McGregor fell to his second straight loss against Poirier as a result of a broken leg. It came in the wake of a new “strategy” for the Irishman leading into the trilogy, with Conor deciding to revert back to the trash talk status quo that first put him on the map in the UFC.

Nurmagomedov was up against UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, UFC women’s bantamweight and featherweight champion Amanda Nunes, and UFC women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas, but he managed to beat them all out to win the coveted award. Nurmagomedov earned the ESPY award on the strength of his submission win over Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 last year. It was a phenomenal win for Numagomedov, and even though it was his only fight in the last year, it was enough for him to take home the award.

Georges St-Pierre is not optimistic about a superfight with Khabib Nurmagomedov, saying that “we’re never going to see it, unfortunately.” St-Pierre and Nurmagomedov are both universally regarded as two of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, and there has been chatter about a potential matchup between these two legends over the last several years. However, with GSP retired and with Nurmagomedov recently hanging up his gloves, the possibility of a dream matchup between them seems very unlikely at this point. UFC president Dana White is apparently still holding out hope for a fight, but with both fighters retired, it seems like a pipe dream.

Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov says Kamaru Usman would beat Georges St-Pierre in 2021, but 2010 was a different story. Nurmagomedov recently sat down with UFC Russia for an interview and was asked about a variety of different topics. One of the questions posed to “The Eagle” was about his stablemate at Dominance MMA, the UFC welterweight champion Usman, and who would win in a superfight against the legend GSP. As far as Nurmagomedov is concerned, Usman would be the one getting his hand raised in 2021, but he believes that if this fight took place back in GSP’s prime around 2010, that the result of the fight would likely be different.

Nurmagomedov first revealed his intentions to retire from MMA following his submission win over Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 last October. After taking several months to consider his future, Nurmagomedov vacated his title earlier this year and retired from the sport. However, even though “The Eagle” is no longer flying, it isn’t stopping White and the rest of the UFC’s top executives from trying to convince the Russian to fight one more time.

Khabib Nurmagomedov has given his prediction for the trilogy bout between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier. McGregor and Poirier fought back in January where Poirier exacted his revenge with a second-round TKO win over the Irishman. After the fight, both men called for the trilogy and it will headline UFC 264 from the T-Mobile Arena on July 10. According to Nurmagomedov, who fought and beat both of them, believes if McGregor can’t finish Poirier in the first round he will lose the fight.

That victory improved Nurmagomedov’s MMA record to a perfect 29-0, and UFC president Dana White was hoping the legend would come back for one final fight and try to make it an even 30-0. However, “The Eagle” decided that it was the right time to walk away and he vacated the UFC lightweight title and officially stepped away from the sport earlier this year.

Nurmagomedov was the best lightweight fighter in the sport before officially announcing his retirement from MMA earlier this year. As part of his retirement, Nurmagomedov vacated the UFC’s 155lbs belt, which Oliveira won when he knocked out Michael Chandler at UFC 262. Speaking to Sport 24, Nurmagomedov praised the new champion Oliveira for his victory, but cautioned that he won’t be champion for long. As far as “The Eagle” is concerned, Islam Makhachev and Dustin Poirier will take Oliveira’s belt from him.

UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman says that we “know what would happen” in a potential Charles Oliveira vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov fight. Oliveira knocked out Michael Chandler at UFC 262 this past Saturday night to become the new UFC lightweight champion. Of course, the former champion Nurmagomedov gave up his belt a few months ago which was the reason the vacant title was available in the first place. Now that Oliveira has won the belt in such impressive fashion, there have been some suggestions that Nurmagomedov could be interested in the fight. But if you ask Usman, although fans might want to watch this fight, he thinks he knows what would happen.

Though “#Khabibtime” came out two years ago, it wasn’t until this past weekend where passages of Nurmagomedov’s book began floating around online where he threw some serious shade towards Ferguson, his longtime rival who he never ended up fighting in the Octagon.
