EA Sports Apologizes to Khabib Nurmagomedov for post-fight celebration

Earlier this week top ranked UFC lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov took to Twitter to inform EA Sports that they got his post-fight celebration wrong in EA Sports UFC 2, and that the company needed to change his celebration as a sign of respect to himself and his fans. Nurmagomedov posted a photo on Instagram showing a message which he received from the EA Sports UFC team, apologizing for the error, promising to fix it.

UFC lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov is not happy with EA Sports. “The Eagle” took to Twitter to share his unhappiness stating that his in-game post-fight celebration (which you can see here) is disrespectful towards his Muslim fans.

It all started with a premature tap by young Sage Northcutt (7-1 MMA) in the half-guard position. Lightweight Tony Ferguson who has been on a tear in the division winning 7 straight dating back to 2013. Ferguson made his comments known by posting on twitter about Northcutt’s quick tap defeat.

While the UFC has yet to officially announce that Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Tony Ferguson will go down at UFC on FOX 19 on April 16th, ‘The Eagle’ posted a photo and a video on Instagram. The photo showed the contract which states that Nurmagomedov will fight Ferguson on April 16th 2016. In the caption of the video, Nurmagomedov revealed that the “winner gets everything” leading many to believe the bout is in fact a title eliminator.
