Knee injury forces Forrest Griffin to withdraw from UFC 155 bout with Phil Davis | UFC News
A knee injury has forced former UFC light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin (19-7 MMA, 10-5 UFC) to withdraw from his scheduled UFC 155 bout with Phil Davis (10-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC).
UFC President Dana White announced the news today via Twitter. He made no mention of a possible replacement for Griffin:
“Forrest Has MCL tear and ACL strain, 20 cc’s of blood removed from his knee and the saga continues at the UFC!!”
UFC 155 takes place December 29th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is headlined by a heavyweight championship rematch between current champ Junior dos Santos and former champion Cain Velasquez.
