Edwards was scheduled to take on red-hot prospect Khamzat Chimaev in the main event of stacked UFC Fight Night card on December 19. Regrettably, the Birmingham, UK native was forced to withdraw from the bout after testing positive for COVID-19.

As replayed by ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, UFC president Dana White appeared on the Jim Rome show on Friday and made the announcement that the Edwards vs. Chimaev fight is a done deal. The fight will reportedly take place at 170lbs at a UFC Fight Night card on December 19 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. It will be a five-round headliner.

Since then, he was scheduled to fight Tyron Woodley in March. However, the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Edwards was then locked down in England and couldn’t train properly so he turned down multiple fights.
