Rumor: Liz Carmouche vs Katlyn Chookagian targeted for UFC 205

One of the two women who competed in the UFC’s first ever woman’s fight is set to return to the Octagon, as sources are saying the promotion is considering Katlyn Chookagian as Liz Carmouche’s at UFC 205 in the UFC’s first ever foray into the Empire State, according to Ariel Helwani of MMAfighting.com.

Carmouche (10-5) took part in the historic title fight with Ronda Rousey back at UFC 157 shortly after the women’s bantamweight division was absorbed into the UFC following their purchase of Strikeforce.

While Carmouche ended up losing that fight with Rousey by first-round armbar, she is currently coming off of a win over Lauren Murphy in April 2015. Before the Murphy fight, Caramouche had dropped two fights in a row to Meisha Tate and Alexis Davis. She hasn’t fought since beating Murphy.

Katlyn Chookagian, 27, is an undefeated prospect who also defeated Lauren Murphy in her UFC debut in July. Chookagian is now 8-0 and trains out of Renzo Gracie’s Academy in Midtown Manhattan, just a few blocks away from Madison Square Garden, where UFC 205 is set to take place.
