Luke Rockhold: Why fight if I can get paid “big numbers” to model?

Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold is looking to get paid for his looks and his fists, as he heads to New York Fashion Week in Manhattan.

While rumors are abound over his love life with Demi Lovato, Rockhold has been fielding offers for a modelling contract according to the man himself.

“I will be going to NY Fashion Week next week and I’m looking to sign a modeling contract,” Rockhold said during Monday’s MMA Hour. “I’ve got offers from one of the top two (modelling) brands”.

“I’m a fighter at heart, but I’m here to get paid. We’re talking big numbers (for modeling contract).”

Following a disappointing knockout loss to rival Michael Bisping, Rockhold told Ariel Helwani he is exploring his options for income outside of fighting.

“I’m not gonna go out there and put my body through (fighting) when I can also get paid (for modelling), Rockhold said. “I beat my body down during training and fighting, and my opportunities have grown recently, so I’m dabbling with that.”

Although the Californian was tight-lipped over his possible romance with former Disney teen star and pop-singer Demi Lovato, Rockhold seems excited over a potential career in modelling.

“(Modelling agents) are all for me being a fighter. I’m just looking to stack some cash.”

“My face has never been cut or badly bruised in any of my fights, and I’ve fought the best in the world.”
