Luke Rockhold plans on “making some noise” in his octagon return

Luke Rockhold has not stepped foot inside the octagon since losing his UFC middleweight championship to Michael Bisping at UFC 199 twelve months ago in Los Angeles, California.

The former UFC middleweight champion of the world, Rockhold, has been patiently waiting for the promotion to book him a fight against a marquee name for his highly anticipated octagon return.

Unfortunately for fight fans, a marquee fight for “Rocky” has yet to come to fruition.

To make matters worse, Rockhold’s desired opponent Gegard Mousasi is currently in the midst of contract negotiations with the UFC and an agreement is apparently far from close.

Rockhold, who has been highly critical of current champion Michael Bisping’s most recent opponents (Dan Henderson and a proposed fight with Georges St-Pierre), recently vented his frustrations in an interview with MMAFighting:

“I’m not coming back after all this time and fighting some chump on a worthless card,” Rockhold told MMAFighting.com in a recent interview. “I’m coming back in style and making some noise.”

“The division is f-cked,” he said. “No interesting fights.”

Michael Bisping is currently on the sidelines nursing an apparent knee injury.

Meanwhile, top division contenders Yoel Romero and Robert Whittaker will square off for the promotions interim middleweight title next weekend in the co-main event of UFC 213 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
