PHOTO | Mairbek Taisumov roasts entire UFC top-10 with hilarious cartoon
Mairbek Taisumov has been angling for a ranked foe for some time. Despite his best efforts to coax stars like Anthony Pettis and Edson Barboza in the cage, however, he has not yet earned the opportunity he’s seeking.
On Monday morning, the rising Russian lightweight took another crack at goading an elite lightweight into a fight, this time taking a dig at the entire top-1o with one hilarious cartoon. This cartoon, which is in the style of your typical political cartoon, also jabs at US President Donald Trump and his infamous wall.

“Look at their scary faces when they see me, hiding behind the wall which their own president built to protect them,” Taisumov said of this cartoon. “Ready or not, here I come!”
Mairbek Taisumov is currently on a fantastic, five-fight streak. All five of these wins have come by way of knockout, and only two of them have occurred outside first round. Taisumov’s five most recent casualties are Marcin Bandel, Anthony Christodoulou, Alan Patrick, Damir Hadzovic, and Felipe Silva. His last loss occurred in March of 2014, when he gave up a decision to Brazil’s Michel “Trator” Prazeres. Taisumov’s overall record currently stands at 27-5, While he is a strong 7-1 in the UFC lightweight division.
Of the lightweights depicted in his cartoon, the only ones available are Kevin Lee, Edson Barboza, Conor McGregor, Tony Ferguson, Michael Johnson and Michael Chiesa. With Lee recovering from a recent loss to Ferguson, Barboza awaiting a potential scrap with Khabib Nurmagomedov, McGregor and Ferguson closing in on a collision, and Johnson flirting with a drop to featherweight, however, Chiesa might be his only choice.
