“He’s awful. He’s terrible. This is what’s alarming, ‘I allowed Priscila [Cachoeira] to be a warrior and keep fighting’. That is not your job as a referee. We don’t need you to dictate who’s a warrior and who’s not a warrior. That is not your call. She was in serious trouble and she was so outclassed it’s not even funny. Your job is the safety. I don’t need Mario Yamasaki deciding who’s a warrior or not. Shut the f*ck up and save those fighters so they can continue their career and live to fight another day.

You are not a warrior, Mario Yamasaki. You are not one of us. You have never been in that cage at this high of a level. You did some jiu-jitsu or tae kwon do or whatever the f*ck background you have, you do not count, you do not get to dictate who’s a warrior and who’s not. At this level, hate to tell ya, everyone who has ever stepped foot in that UFC octagon that you’ve reffed is a warrior. You’re there for their safety. Period. Do that. Don’t comment on who’s a warrior and who’s not. That is not what you signed up for. That is not your job. You should not have a job.

You and Yves Lavigne are literally some of the worst in the world. You guys hurt the sport. You are not helping us grow, get out the way. Quit.”

Former top 10 UFC heavyweight competitor and season 10 finalist on The Ultimate Fighter, Brendan Schaub was one of the many very vocal people who reacted to Mario Yamasaki’s late stoppage at UFC Belem. The fight in which is surrounded by all the controversy was between former bantamweight title challenger, Valentina Shevchenko and UFC newcomer, Priscila Cachoeira. Shevchenko won the fight with incredible dominance and out struck and bloodied Cachoeira with 230 strikes to only 3…the fight ended in the middle of the second round.

UFC President, Dana White has also been incredibly open with his outrage towards Yamasaki and even stated today on UFC Tonight that he promises Yamasaki will not referee again. How much control he has over that is to be determined… But for reference, the last time White had such a hatred for a referee was with Steve Mazagatti who White said was “banned” from the UFC after so many bad calls. Mazagatti has not refereed at a UFC event since UFC 162 in 2013 so it’s safe to say that White very well may have played a part in that.

What do you think of Schaub’s comments as well as the stoppage from last Saturday night?
