The “Iron Lady” put a halt to the Sabina Mazo hype train, defeating the Kings MMA standout by unanimous decision and handing the 22-year-old her first professional loss. Moroz picked up her first victory since Aug. 2016 and likely saved her job with the Las Vegas based promotion.

“I feel amazing,” Moroz said post-fight at UFC Philadelphia via MMAJunkie. “I have a lot of energy because I don’t cut weight. Before it was 20 pounds cut, now it’s 12 or 15. It’s easy for me. Now I have a lot of energy, I feel more strong. Amazing.”

Moroz (9-3) started her UFC career off with an upset victory over Joanne Calderwood at UFC Fight Night 64 and followed that up winning two of her next three fights. However she would drop her next two bouts to Carla Esparza and Angela Hill prior to Saturday’s victory. It’s the first time Moroz has competed in the 125-pound weight class since her fourth-pro bout in Sept. 2014. With entering a new weight class and coming off a win, the 27-year-old has her sights set on her next opponent.

“I think I need for me, three months and fight. Three months and fight. I don’t know who. For me it’s a new division 125lbs – I need to talk to my coach about who is a good opponent for me, but maybe Paige VanZant. She’s a good fighter. She win (her last fight) and I win (tonight).”

VanZant (8-4) is coming off her first victory at flyweight, submitting Rachael Ostovich at UFC Brooklyn back in January. Like Moroz, VanZant snapped a two-fight skid with the win and earned her first victory since Aug. 2016. The 25-year-old is currently without an opponent and is 2-2 in her last four fights.
