Adam D Martin - May 17, 2020

UFC welterweight Matt Brown has reacted following his second-round KO loss to Miguel Baeza on the preliminary card at UFC Florida. After a back-and-forth first round where Brown had Baeza hurt badly at several points, the younger Baeza was able to land a big punch in the second that knocked the veteran Brown to the floor, where Baeza finished him off with strikes for the biggest win of his career. Baeza ended up earning a well-deserved $50,000 bonus for “Performance of the Night” for the most impressive victory in his career so far.

Matt Brown wants UFC to re-book Carlos Condit fight

Adam Martin - April 21, 2020

Welterweight veteran Matt Brown says he hopes the UFC can re-book him against Carlos Condit in a fight that MMA fans have wanted to see for years. Brown and Condit have been two of the most violent welterweights for well over a decade. The UFC has attempted to book them against each other twice in the past, first at UFC on FOX 9 in December 2013, and again at UFC on FOX 29 in April 2018. Both times the fight fell through due to injuries Brown suffered in training.

Ben Saunders coming to 'steal the show with Matt Brown' at UFC 245

Mike Heck - December 10, 2019

Saturday night’s UFC 245 fight card is absolutely stacked. With three title fights and two very intriguing bantamweight matchups making up the main card, along with a slew of fascinating preliminary fights, the organization’s year end pay-per-view is shaping up to be one of 2019’s best. In addition, a welterweight matchup between Ben Saunders and Matt Brown — veterans of over 40 combined Octagon appearances — has a chance to steal the show away from the fights on the marquee. Saunders and Brown will compete during the ESPN2 preliminary card at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. “Killa B” is looking to snap a three fight skid against a performance bonus magnet in Brown, who hasn’t competed since knocking out Diego Sanchez over two years ago and briefly retired from the sport.

EXCLUSIVE | UFC veteran Matt Brown looks back on his career

Cole Shelton - December 22, 2018

Matt Brown has been fighting in the UFC since 2008. During that time, Brown developed into a perennial contender in the UFC’s stacked welterweight division. Ultimately, however, Brown fell just short in his bid to fight for UFC gold. Nonetheless, Matt was fighting some of the top names in the sport, in the likes of Robbie Lawler, Stephen Thompson, Johnny Hendricks, Donald Cerrone, Demian Maia, among others. There is no question that Matt Brown has seen a lot in his storied career. Even with that, ‘The Immortal’ doesn’t really reflect on who he has fought in his career, because for him, it is just a fight no matter who the opponent is.

Justin Golightly - February 10, 2018

Not too long ago, Matt Brown was about to call it quits. The questions that plagued his career coupled with some ups and downs seemed overwhelming. No matter the fighter — from Georges St-Pierre or a guy fighting in the regionals — there comes a time where you have to ask yourself if you’re going to keep doing it. When Matt Brown asked himself that question and searched real hard, he found clarity. Hell yeah, he’ll keep doing it. “I just started kind of questioning, ‘What am I doing?’ The first thing I went through was, ‘How do I not make it happen again?’ That gets very exhausting when you just think of, ‘How? How? How?’ Right? And I think through the Diego camp – because I announced retirement very early in the camp, like 12 weeks out – through the camp, everything went so well. I focused more on my own mind, and I started getting back into the, ‘Why?’, and I started bringing clarity to that side of things.”

Justin Golightly - February 8, 2018

Matt Brown comes back soon against Carlos Condit at UFC Glendale in April, which is a fight we’ll all praising the MMA gods for bestowing upon us. However, it’s not his opponent that he’s trashing publicly like some other fighters, he’s continuing a beef he has with Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series commentator Snoop Dogg. Matt Brown is still heated for the wild Instagram video Snoop posted insulting Conor McGregor after his boxing loss to Floyd Mayweather. Brown went as far to say if he caught him on the street, he’d catch these hands fashizzle. “Snoop Dogg, that piece of sh-t. I’ll call him out. He called out Conor [McGregor]. Remember, he called him a b-tch? That’s not cool, man. I don’t care [if he was f-cked up]. He put it out in public. He could have apologized, deleted it, whatever. If I go to the UFC PI [Performance Institute] I might just punch him. If I see him there. I’m cool with that. I’m just saying. That really offends me, man.”
