After Frevola had weighed-in, he posted a poll on Twitter asking fans if he should wrestle or stand and trade with Azaitar. Of course, the stand and trade option won, which is exactly what Frevola did and led to a first-round KO.

Frevola is set to take on Ottman Azaitar who is an opponent the ‘Steamrolla’ has wanted to fight for quite some time. The two were booked to face one another at UFC 257 on Fight Island, but after Azaitar snuck a bag and people into the hotel, he was released from the promotion.

Frevola had a rough 2021 as he went 0-2, losing a decision to Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 257 and suffering a seven-second KO loss to Terrance McKinney at UFC 263. However, he fought Tsarukyan on a days’ notice and took the McKinney fight on a couple of days’ notice as well.

Matt Frevola had a crazy 2020 as he had three canceled fights due to COVID-19 and Frevola fracturing his foot. He was then set to return at UFC 257 but his 2021 also got off to a hectic start. Frevola was set to face Ottman Azaitar at UFC 257 in a highly-anticipated bout. However, on the day of weigh-ins, it was revealed Azaitar was out of the fight due to sneaking people into Fight Island. He ended up having to fight Arman Tsarukyan which he says is a fight he wants back.

Saturday’s UFC Vegas 10 card has been hit by another last-minute shake-up as Matt Frevola has been forced out of a planned fight with Roosevelt Roberts. Frevola will be replaced by UFC newcomer Kevin Croom. This news comes just days after BJPENN.com reported that Frank Camacho had been forced out of his planned UFC Vegas 10 fight with Brok Weaver and replaced by Jalin Turner.
