Matt Mitrione engages in Twitter war with Matt Hughes over fighter pay
Matt Mitrione ripped into UFC Hall-of-Famer Matt Hughes on Twitter during a heated exchange over fighter’s rights and pay.
With talks of a fighters union and compensation running rampant amongst UFC and Bellator fighters alike, Hughes and Mitrione took to Twitter on Tuesday to air their grievances, or in other words attack each others opinion. See for yourself below, PENN Nation!
@brianoshepherd True athletes get into the sport because they love it. Not for big $ down the road. Sorry.

You mean boring and safe Fighting for little to no $ and hoping to just make the fight to get bills paid? https://t.co/9iJvi8HyC4

Since signing with Bellator MMA earlier this year, Mitrione has gone on a 2-fight win streak, defeating both Carl Seumanutafa and Oli Thompson via KO/TKO. Prior to that, the former professional football player was on a 2-fight skid in the Octagon that ultimately saw the promotion release him.
What do you think, PENN Nation? Is ‘Meathead’ in the right, or does Hughes make a more compelling point? Sound off in the comments section!
