Max Holloway booked for UFC 199 with plans to get a step closer to a title shot
Number-four UFC ranked featherweight Max Holloway has been booked for UFC 199 and is looking to get closer to his goal of fighting for the title.
The UFC announced Holloway will meet number-five UFC ranked fighter Ricardo Lamas on June 4 at UFC 199.
Holloway is on a highly notable eight-fight win streak with just two of the eight fights going to decision.
“Ricardo, all respect to him, but you gotta have self-belief that you think you’re the man, and I have that self-belief,” Holloway said to KHON. “I’m always improving, always trying to get one percent better every day, so by the time we get in there, it’s a whole different Max Holloway.”
Lamas is 7-2 in the UFC with his last win coming via decision over Diego Sanchez at UFC Fight Night 78.
