Max Holloway Broke 3 Records at UFC 218 and That’s Just The Beginning
When Max Holloway told us this was the ‘Blessed Era’, he wasn’t just talking, everything he’s done up until this point has been an effort to prove it. How can you not respect this guy? He stacked up a ridiculous winning streak before culminating his journey by beating Jose Aldo for the undisputed featherweight title. After all of that, he turned around and beat him once again and has shown nothing but incredible respect. He’s the only person ever to beat Jose Aldo back-to-back, but that’s just a tiny excerpt in a long list of career achievements
Thanks to stat guru Mike Bohn over at MMA Junkie, we have a meticulous list of all of the records that Max Holloway has broken along with all of the other fighters on the card. Among the laundry list of 11 impressive notches on Holloway’s belt, he broke three unique records with his impressive second win over Jose Aldo: The youngest to reach 15 wins in the UFC, most third-round finishes in the organization’s history at six, and the first fighter to rack up over 100 significant strikes in six separate fights.
If Max Holloway can keep this up, this may only be the beginning. As we already know, Holloway has been beating down Dana White’s door to put on the first UFC Hawaii card and it looks like he has wore him down. Not only that, but just like Demetrious Johnson, the longer the featherweight champ keeps his win streak going, the more these records are going to keep stacking up. The Hawaiian may be humble in victory, but he’s on his way to becoming a GOAT in his own right.
