Max Holloway fires back at Conor McGregor after latest Twitter jab

By Tom Taylor - March 5, 2018

UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor – who is expected to be stripped of his title when the cage door closes on Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 223 – has been uncharacteristically active on Twitter lately, engaging with many of his UFC rivals. One of his latest targets was reigning UFC featherweight champ Max Holloway, who he defeated by decision back in 2013.

Max Holloway

McGregor’s jab at Holloway occurred after the featherweight champ attempted to console Frankie Edgar on Twitter.

This comment prompted McGregor to remind Holloway that he withdrew from his planned UFC 222 bout with Edgar.

Once again, Holloway showed he’s not afraid to spar with the quick-witted Irishman on social media, promptly issuing a response that referenced McGregor’s long stretches of inactivity.

This is not the first time Max Holloway and Conor McGregor have gone at it on social media. Here’s another one of their recent exchanges, in which Holloway appeared to get the last laugh.

When there is no referee to save you.
