Max Holloway is getting fed up with the Floyd Mayweather talk
One of the biggest ongoing stories in combat sports over the last few months has been Floyd Mayweather’s potential move to MMA.
It all began when Mayweather unleashed an ego-soaked rant on Instagram live, suggesting he could come to the UFC and make a billion dollars if he wanted to. It continued when UFC President Dana White assured there had been “real” negotiations with Mayweather and his team, and went further when Mayweather posted a few Instagram videos of himself strutting around an MMA cage. Whether the 40-year-old Mayweather ever makes this incredibly dangerous move to MMA remains to be seen, but it seems that people are starting getting tired of all the talk. File UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway into that category.
Holloway chimed in on the ongoing Mayweather-to-MMA narrative in response to an article on Twitter.

“Stop giving this shit attention and let’s actually talk bout people who’s in the sport [of MMA] doing it,” Holloway said in his Twitter post. “If the guy wanted to fight it would [have] been done. Let’s be real.”
Max Holloway was briefly expected to return to the Octagon in the main event of UFC 222, but was unfortunately sidelined with an injury. His opponent Frankie Edgar will now battle Brian Ortega in the card’s co-main event, while the card’s headlining spot has been filled by women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg and last-minute challenger Yana Kunitskaya.
