Holloway entered the fight as the betting favorite but it was Volkanovski who won a decision to become the new champ.

Granted, both of those contests were very close, and many felt the Hawaiian deserved the nod in the second bout.

In the second round, ‘The Boston Finisher’ collapsed with a knee injury, handing Allen the win. It was later learned the injury was a torn ACL that could hold Kattar out until 2024.

According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Holloway and Allen have verbally agreed to headline the April 15 card. As of right now, contracts have not been issued or signed. Alexander Volkanovski thought the cut above Max Holloway’s eye should have stopped their fight at UFC 276. Volkanovski landed a big shot to Holloway’s eye that split his eyebrow into two. It was a big cut that was bleeding quite a bit, but the cutman did a very good job which allowed the fight to continue. However, Volkanovski says he saw Holloway’s bone and thinks the fight should’ve been stopped due to the cut.
