VIDEO | Max Holloway Calls Out EA Sports UFC on Twitter

By Justin Golightly - January 9, 2018

We all know that the next fight for Max Holloway is a UFC featherweight title defense against Frankie Edgar, but today he was feuding with EA Sports UFC’s Twitter account. They just dropped a new trailer for their completely overhauled Career Mode, but the Hawaiian took some issues with their footage. The new prospect climbing up the ranks in their video earned some redemption in one of his fights by knocking out Holloway, who also got taken out in another trailer. Needless to say, Max Holloway wanted to know exactly what the deal was with the video game company.

EA Sports UFC 3 was quick to rectify the unintentional shade-throwing on Max Holloway, then the champ had a Snickers bar and felt a lot better. Good thing it was all in good fun. As for the rest of the video, it looks like the game is going to be more like a UFC career than ever before.

“What was missing in ‘EA UFC 2’ was a sense of, ‘When am I done? When have I beat the game?’ We now have a bar that determines your G.O.A.T status. The objective of career mode is to become the Greatest of All Time, and to do that you have to accomplish a certain amount based on long-term goals. You can do well in the octagon, but if no one pays attention to your fights are cares about you, you’re only going to make it so far.” — Creative Director Brian Hayes speaking to MMA Junkie.

Your created fighter or a current UFC fighter that you’d like to start their career from scratch – will have much more to do than just win fights. You’ll promote, staredown, and try to get attention on social media in your journey to becoming the greatest fighter of all time. We’re just one month away from the game dropping on all major consoles so we can test it out for ourselves.
