Michael Bisping on Dan Henderson: “The H-bomb will not land and lightening doesn’t strike twice”
The memory of UFC 100 still lingers in the mind of the UFC middleweight champion. Michael Bisping has been one of the most prominent victims on Dan Henderson’s highlight reel after brutally knocking out the British fighter in the second round of their fight back in 2010.
The champ will have his chance at redemption at UFC 204 in front of his hometown crowd in Manchester, England. Bisping discussed his upcoming title fight rematch with Dan Henderson on Monday’s edition of ‘The MMA Hour’ and blasted Hendo on his implication that Bisping was using performance enhancing drugs in his win over Rockhold:
“The H-bomb will not land and lightening doesn’t strike twice.”
“Can you believe the nerve of this guy? The godfather of TRT to imply that the cleanest guy in the sport is on steroids. That’s what I’m talking about, the doubt, the doubt going through Dan Henderson’s mind.”
“I’d like to know how many times he’s been tested. I’ve been tested several times for this camp. Just because you’re willing to cheat, don’t hold everyone else to the standards you hold yourself to.”
Bisping wrested the middleweight title from Rockhold at UFC 199 in another rematch of a fight where he lost the first bout. ‘The Count’ has only been finished twice since the loss to Henderson back at UFC 100, with a TKO loss to Vitor Belfort and a submission loss to Rockhold during their first go-around in 2014.
“Fortunately I have rocks for brains, and an unshakable self-belief. I’m looking forward to revenge. I’m looking forward to defending my belt. I’m looking forward to representing Great Britain,” Bisping said of his rematch with Henderson.
Bisping will take on Dan Henderson at UFC 204 in Manchester, England on October 8. In the co-main event, Vitor Belfort and Gegard Mousasi are set to fight at middleweight.
Will Bisping avenge his loss to Hendo? Or will history repeat itself and leave Dan Henderson as middleweight champ at the age of 46? Sound off, PENN Nation!
