Following Vitor Belfort vs. Nate Marquardt announcement, Michael Bisping rips on the ‘two little-juiced f*ckers’
Vitor Belfort will meet Nate Marquardt at UFC 212 in what “The Phenom” is calling his last fight before he retires from mixed martial arts.
With the two middleweight division fighters going to duke it out in the Octagon, the champion of the division, Michael Bisping had some interesting things to say about the two fellow fighters at 185.
“I hate Nate Marquardt as well,” Bisping said on his Believe you Me podcast (transcribed by Jim Edwards for Champions). “I said I wouldn’t swear, but [they] are two little-juiced f*ckers together there. Nate Marquardt has failed several steroid tests over the years. He was abusing testosterone replacement therapy and he was also flat out busted for steroids. He’s a cheat and now he performs like one.”
Bisping went on to explain how an incident from the past led to his repugnance of Marquardt.
“There was a little scandal with myself back in 2011 with Jorge Rivera,” Bisping explained. “There’s no point going into the details—we know what happened. After that, that guy, Nate Marquardt, had the audacity to say that I bring the sport into disrepute. I bring the sport into disrepute? Here’s a guy that’s routinely failing steroid tests, yet I’m the guy who brings the sport into disrepute. Every time he loses, he has the arrogance to not just say I was beaten by the better man. He has the arrogance to say ‘This is God’s plan, this is God trying to teach me a lesson.’ Oh my god, I just can’t fathom the arrogance there. Rather than just say the better guy got me on the night [it’s] ‘No, no, the better guy didn’t get me.’ This was God actually stepping in and teaching me a lesson through losing a UFC fight. If you think that, you are out of your goddamn mind.”
