Michael Bisping Predicts a First Round KO Over Georges St-Pierre

By Justin Golightly - September 27, 2017

It was just last week that Michael Bisping revealed he was at least thinking about retirement, but he sure isn’t sounding like he’s leaning toward it. He says he’s down to go up and challenge Daniel Cormier, now he’s got some bold predictions regarding his upcoming fight with Georges St-Pierre. Not only is he confident that he’ll knock out the former welterweight champion in the very first round, but part of his confidence could come from… spies in Georges St-Pierre’s camp?

“Generally, when I fight wrestlers in the past, I move around a lot. I utilize a lot of lateral movement, forward and back movement, side to side, because if you’re moving, it’s hard for a wrestler to shoot a double leg on you because you’re a moving target. I won’t be doing that this time. I’m going to stand right in front of [Georges St-Pierre], I’m going to plant my feet, I’m going to walk him down, put him on the back foot, and I’m going to knock him out in the first round. You have my word.”

“[Georges St-Pierre] is actually in LA a lot these days. He’s been at the Wild Card Boxing gym, training with Freddie Roach. I have a couple of spies in there, by the way, and they told me some info. Georges, if you’re listening buddy, that’s a public domain. I know people in there. I know what you’re working on, pal. I know what you’re working on, and it ain’t going to work on me, Georgie boy. I don’t give a sh-t. I don’t care. He can do whatever he wants. Georges is talking about about how he’s going to fight different in this fight. I hope he does, because he’s boring the way he fights.” — Michael Bisping on his own ‘Believe You Me’ podcast.

All is fair in love and war, fight fans. We still have to wait until November 7th’s mega UFC 217 card to find out if this alleged insider info will prove to be an edge for Bisping. If he manage to knock out St-Pierre in a single round, he’ll definitely go down as one of the best of all time. Could he really walk away from the sport after that? It may be the most bittersweet way to do it. Maybe he’ll wait to see what his broadcast partner Daniel Cormier says about the idea of a superfight.
