Michael Bisping responds to Mousasi’s call out on Twitter
Gegard Mousasi has been making his case for a title shot at middleweight since dropping down to the 185 pound weight class back in 2014, but the longtime contender has really stepped it up performance-wise in his last two fights.
Shortly after knocking out surging middleweight contender Thiago “Maretta” Santos at UFC 200, Mousasi notched a career-defining win over Vitor Belfort at UFC 204 last weekend.
Mousasi didn’t hesitate to call out the middleweight champ Michael Bisping following the win over Belfort, as Bisping was headlining the same card as Mousasi vs. “The Phenom”.
See for yourself how their Twitter exchange went down below!
yeah but you got knocked the fuck out by that unranked Uriah hall. Let's not forget that 😂

Bisping retained his 185 pound belt after winning a contentious decision over Dan Henderson in a rematch of their UFC 100 showdown, where Hendo handed Bisping the first of only two knockout losses in his entire career.
Bisping won the title after knocking out another man who had beaten him years ago, taking out Luke Rockhold with strikes in the first round at UFC 199.
While Mousasi has been working towards a title shot, Bisping is riding the best win streak in his UFC career, defeating the likes of Anderson Silva, Rockhold for the belt, and now Henderson in his first title defense.
Henderson had his moments in the fight, dropping the champion twice and nearly finishing the bout after felling Bisping with his patented overhand-right. However, the durable Brit was able to weather the storm and walk away with the W.
During Mousasi’s Twitter exchange with Bisping, “The Count” brought up Mousasi’s shocking TKO loss to Uriah Hall in Japan last year. While he hasn’t lost since then, the defeat was certainly a set back.
Mousasi initially tweeted to Bisping referencing their respective fights with Dan Henderson, pointing out how he was able to finish Henderson with strikes in a little over a minute in 2015, while Bisping won a controversial decision where he was dropped and battered by the 46-year-old Henderson.
Are you intrigued in a title fight between Mousasi and Bisping? If the fight is scheduled, would “The Count” manage to defeat the resurgent Mousasi and retain his middleweight belt? Sound off, PENN Nation!
