It appears that former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has squashed his beef with surging welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal. ‘The Count’ and ‘Gamebred’ had exchanged verbal jabs in the past, this due to Bisping’s rivalry with Masvidal’s friend and training partner Yoel Romero.

When it comes to Luke Rockhold’s recent rollercoaster ride with his fighting career, many point to his middleweight title loss to Michael Bisping at UFC 199 as the beginning of the downward trajectory. In fact, Jan Blachowicz was able to use a piece of Bisping’s in-fight strategy at UFC 239 to put him in a position to be in his own world title conversation. Blachowicz picked up a big win on Saturday night when he knocked Rockhold out in the second-round. It was a left hook — the same punch Bisping landed on that magical night in June 2016 — that set up the finish.

Michael Bisping thinks Israel Adesanya is due for his comeuppance. UFC 243 will play host to a middleweight title unification bout. Champion Robert Whittaker will collide with interim title holder Adesanya on Oct. 5. A location for UFC 243 has not been announced.

Michael Bisping gives Thiago Santos a shot at beating Jon Jones, but he won’t bet the house on it. Tonight (July 6), Santos will challenge Jones for the UFC light heavyweight championship in the UFC 239 headliner. Jones is entering the second title defense of his current reign. Meanwhile, this will be “Marreta’s” first UFC title opportunity. He brings with him a four-fight winning streak, earning finishes in three of those bouts over Jan Blachowicz, Jimi Manuwa, and Eryk Anders.

From a promoter’s perspective, Michael Bisping can appreciate Dana White’s desire to have Jon Jones’ lone defeat overturned. Back in Dec. 2009, a young Jones took on Matt Hamill in the co-main event of TUF 10 Finale. This was Jones’ fourth fight under the UFC banner. “Bones” was teeing off on Hamill with some vicious ground-and-pound. When referee Steve Mazzagatti called a halt to the bout, most assumed that Jones scored a TKO victory. Instead, he was disqualified for illegal 12-6 elbow strikes.

Michael Bisping believes Darren Till can turn the tide in his young career. After going 17-0-1 in his first 18 professional bouts, Till was given a UFC welterweight title shot against Tyron Woodley. Big wins over Donald Cerrone and Stephen Thompson caught the attention of UFC officials and once Colby Covington underwent nasal surgery, Till was given the shot at gold. He fell short, suffering a second-round submission loss to Woodley.

Michael Bisping doesn’t believe it would be wise of fight fans to sleep on Weili Zhang. Zhang is set to challenge Jessica Andrade for the UFC women’s strawweight title at UFC Shenzhen on Aug. 31. UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber is set to return to the Octagon at UFC Sacramento to take on Ricky Simon. “The California Kid” last fought back in December of 2016 where he beat Brad Pickett. Although Faber has been talking about returning for quite some time, news of the announcement surprised his fellow Hall of Famer Michael Bisping. The Englishman was surprised given how much success the 40-year-old is having outside of fighting and believes he doesn’t need the money.

Speaking at the BKFC 6 press conference on Monday, former boxer Paulie Malignaggi made quite a few comments that rubbed the MMA community the wrong way. Some of his comments actually targeted the MMA community point blank. Yet the thing that bothered former UFC middleweight champ Michael Bisping the most was Malignaggi’s fashion choices — namely his fedora. “Don’t get me started on [Paulie Malignaggi] spitting on [Artem Lobov],” Michael Bisping said on his Believe You Me podcast (transcript via MMA News). “Any motherf*cker that shows up wearing a hat like that deserves to die. It’s as simple as that. I’m sorry. You look like an absolute tit. He looks like a villain out of the Dick Tracy movie. You know what I mean? He might as well have had a pinstripe suit on, that big stupid gangsta hat. Oh my god, it did not look good.
