Michael Bisping explains how he squashed his beef with 'cool as hell' Jorge Masvidal

Chris Taylor - July 13, 2019

It appears that former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has squashed his beef with surging welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal. ‘The Count’ and ‘Gamebred’ had exchanged verbal jabs in the past, this due to Bisping’s rivalry with Masvidal’s friend and training partner Yoel Romero.

Jan Blachowicz explains how Michael Bisping helped him KO Luke Rockhold at UFC 239

Mike Heck - July 9, 2019

When it comes to Luke Rockhold’s recent rollercoaster ride with his fighting career, many point to his middleweight title loss to Michael Bisping at UFC 199 as the beginning of the downward trajectory. In fact, Jan Blachowicz was able to use a piece of Bisping’s in-fight strategy at UFC 239 to put him in a position to be in his own world title conversation. Blachowicz picked up a big win on Saturday night when he knocked Rockhold out in the second-round. It was a left hook — the same punch Bisping landed on that magical night in June 2016 — that set up the finish.

Michael Bisping thinks Thiago Santos can beat Jon Jones, but won't

Fernando Quiles - July 6, 2019

Michael Bisping gives Thiago Santos a shot at beating Jon Jones, but he won’t bet the house on it. Tonight (July 6), Santos will challenge Jones for the UFC light heavyweight championship in the UFC 239 headliner. Jones is entering the second title defense of his current reign. Meanwhile, this will be “Marreta’s” first UFC title opportunity. He brings with him a four-fight winning streak, earning finishes in three of those bouts over Jan Blachowicz, Jimi Manuwa, and Eryk Anders.

Michael Bisping understands why Dana White wants Jon Jones' DQ loss overturned

Fernando Quiles - July 4, 2019

From a promoter’s perspective, Michael Bisping can appreciate Dana White’s desire to have Jon Jones’ lone defeat overturned. Back in Dec. 2009, a young Jones took on Matt Hamill in the co-main event of TUF 10 Finale. This was Jones’ fourth fight under the UFC banner. “Bones” was teeing off on Hamill with some vicious ground-and-pound. When referee Steve Mazzagatti called a halt to the bout, most assumed that Jones scored a TKO victory. Instead, he was disqualified for illegal 12-6 elbow strikes.

Michael Bisping not ruling out career turnaround for Darren Till

Fernando Quiles - June 30, 2019

Michael Bisping believes Darren Till can turn the tide in his young career. After going 17-0-1 in his first 18 professional bouts, Till was given a UFC welterweight title shot against Tyron Woodley. Big wins over Donald Cerrone and Stephen Thompson caught the attention of UFC officials and once Colby Covington underwent nasal surgery, Till was given the shot at gold. He fell short, suffering a second-round submission loss to Woodley.

Michael Bisping says Weili Zhang may beat Jessica Andrade

Fernando Quiles - June 24, 2019

Michael Bisping doesn’t believe it would be wise of fight fans to sleep on Weili Zhang. Zhang is set to challenge Jessica Andrade for the UFC women’s strawweight title at UFC Shenzhen on Aug. 31. While Zhang has only had three fights under the UFC banner, she certainly isn’t a rookie with 20 professional bouts to her credit. Bisping took to his “Believe You Me” podcast to praise Zhang:

Michael Bisping 'surprised' Urijah Faber is returning

Cole Shelton - June 7, 2019

UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber is set to return to the Octagon at UFC Sacramento to take on Ricky Simon. “The California Kid” last fought back in December of 2016 where he beat Brad Pickett. Although Faber has been talking about returning for quite some time, news of the announcement surprised his fellow Hall of Famer Michael Bisping. The Englishman was surprised given how much success the 40-year-old is having outside of fighting and believes he doesn’t need the money.

Michael Bisping roasts Paulie Malignaggi for press conference fashion choices

Tom Taylor - May 22, 2019

Speaking at the BKFC 6 press conference on Monday, former boxer Paulie Malignaggi made quite a few comments that rubbed the MMA community the wrong way. Some of his comments actually targeted the MMA community point blank. Yet the thing that bothered former UFC middleweight champ Michael Bisping the most was Malignaggi’s fashion choices — namely his fedora. “Don’t get me started on [Paulie Malignaggi] spitting on [Artem Lobov],” Michael Bisping said on his Believe You Me podcast (transcript via MMA News). “Any motherf*cker that shows up wearing a hat like that deserves to die. It’s as simple as that. I’m sorry. You look like an absolute tit. He looks like a villain out of the Dick Tracy movie. You know what I mean? He might as well have had a pinstripe suit on, that big stupid gangsta hat. Oh my god, it did not look good.

Michael Bisping urges Anderson Silva to retire

Tom Taylor - May 12, 2019

Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva has once again found himself on the wrong end of a nasty leg-related TKO, as he was chopped down by Jared Cannonier in the co-main event of UFC 237 on Saturday night. Having seen Silva come up short once again, recently retired MMA legend Michael Bisping is urging the Brazilian to hang up the gloves.

Chris Taylor - March 30, 2019

Earlier this month it was announced that former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping would be getting inducted into the promotions Hall of Fame later this summer in Las Vegas. Michael Bisping gives his take on TJ Dillashaw drug testing situation

Tom Taylor - March 28, 2019

Earlier this month, TJ Dillashaw relinquished the UFC bantamweight belt after one of his recent drug tests turned up adverse findings. In the opinion of former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping, who discussed the issue on his popular Believe You Me podcast, Dillashaw’s choice to relinquish the belt before the United States Anti-Doping Agency had reached a verdict on his case is nearly an admission of guilt. “I don’t break the circle of trust,” Bisping said (transcript via MMA Fighting). “I don’t speak outside of school. I don’t tell tales outside of f*cking tale-telling time but I’m telling you this, circle of trust or not, no motherf*cker relinquishes their belt out of respect for the rest of the division. It ain’t about the rest of the division, it’s about me. I’m not gonna relinquish my belt once I destroy the competition and become the champion. I’m not gonna relinquish my belt out of respect for the competition. You just wouldn’t do that. So that in itself – and I apologize if I’m wrong – is almost an admittance of guilt. It really is.

Michael Bisping says Conor McGregor victim is 'a bit of a f****ng d**k’

James Lynch - March 14, 2019

Ahmed Abdirzak, the alleged victim who claimed Conor McGregor stole and broke his cellphone isn’t getting any sympathy from another former UFC champion. The former UFC middleweight champ Michael Bisping chimed in on his Believe You Me podcast regarding the incident and feels the fight fan is blowing things out of proportion. “Look at Kanye West outside LAX,” Bisping said. “Kanye West grabbed someone’s camera and smashed it up. He never got arrested, though. So this guy’s – I’ll just say this guy’s a bit of a f—king dick, to press charges. He’s a very, very recognizable famous person. And by the way, I’m not jumping to his defense, (I’m) just being real. He has to deal with this shit on a daily basis, it must drive him up the f—king wall. And who knows?
