Newly-crowned UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has made it clear that he doesn’t care to fight former champions Chris Weidman or Luke Rockhold. It seems Bisping is more interested in avenging a brutal knockout loss handed to him by Dan Henderson.

The fight was Bisping’s first title fight after 10 years in the promotion, and he certainly took advantage of the opportunity.

Shortly after stepping in on short notice for Chris Weidman at UFC 199 and knocking out Luke Rockhold to become the UFC middleweight champion, Michael Bisping found himself being put on blast by the man he replaced at UFC 199, Chris Weidman. Weidman called Bisping a “bum” and called for a title fight against Bisping at the UFC’s inaugural New York event. Unsurprisingly Bisping fired back at Weidman via Twitter.

At UFC 199, Michael Bisping finally got his UFC title shot after nearly a decade in the promotion. Bisping capitalized on the opportunity, despite stepping in on just 2 weeks notice, and knocked out middleweight champion Luke Rockhold in the very first round. With both men at one win each, Rockhold believes that an immediate rematch is in order so he can attempt to reclaim the UFC championship. Bisping doesn’t see it that way, and wants Rockhold to earn another fight, like he had to after their first fight in 2014.

This past weekend at UFC 199, Michael Bisping defeated Luke Rockhold and claimed the middleweight championship with a 1st round knockout. At the post-fight press conference after the bout, the pair continued their heated rivalry as Rockhold threatened to kill Bisping.

Several weeks ago Chris Weidman was forced out of his UFC 199 rematch with Luke Rockhold due to a neck injury. After it was revealed that Jacare Souza had a torn meniscus, and would be unable to fight, the UFC chose Michael Bisping to step in on short notice and fight Rockhold. Despite being injured, Weidman talked trash about Bisping, calling him the easiest opponent in title fight history.
