VIDEO | Michael Bisping features in trailer for new bareknuckle boxing movie “My Name is Lenny”
Michael Bisping is a busy man. First and foremost, he is the UFC middleweight champion. Then there are his duties as an analyst for Fox Sports, and his role as the host of his own podcast, Believe You Me. Despite these many obligations, he also finds time in his schedule for what seems to be a pretty busy acting schedule.
We recently saw Bisping on the silver screen in the latest instalment of the xXx Franchise, starring alongside names like Vin Diesel and Donnie Yen. More recently still, Bisping has landed himself another big role, playing Roy “Pretty Boy” Shaw in the bareknuckle boxing movie My Name is Lenny.
Here are the key details of the film, in a press release published by Variety:
“The pic is based on the true life story of bare-knuckle fighter Lenny McLean, also known as “The Guv’nor.” [Josh] Helman stars as the boxer, with Chanel Cresswell, a BAFTA winner with “This Is England: 90,” as his wife, Val McLean. UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping (“Twin Peaks,” “xXx: Return of Xander Cage”) plays his arch rival, Roy “Pretty Boy” Shaw.”

At the moment, Bisping is gearing up for a title defense against former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre. While Bisping has been hoping to make this fight happen sometime around International Fight Week, it’s looking more and more like it won’t go down until the fall.
Though St-Pierre’s return has generated a good deal of excitement among fans, his getting an immediate middleweight title shot has created quite a bit of controversy, as the middleweight division is crowded with many far more established contenders, such as Yoel Romero, Robert Whittaker and Luke Rockhold.
