Michael Chandler believes he knows Islam Makhachev’s kryptonite following UFC 294.

UFC 294 took place last Saturday, October 21st at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.

Headlining the event was a lightweight title fight between Islam Makhachev (25-1 MMA) and Alexander Volkanovski (26-3 MMA). The result was a KO victory at 3:06 of Round 1 for Makhachev. The 31-year-old is now sporting 13 consecutive wins in the Octagon and retaining the UFC lightweight championship title.

Originally it was to be Makhachev vs. Charles Oliveira (34-9 MMA) for the title fight, but the latter had to withdraw due to injury. Volkanovski accepted the fight on very short notice.

It was to be the second meeting of the two, as they first fought back in February of this year at UFC 284, where the outcome was the same, it was Makhachev being victorious that time by unanimous decision.

Michael Chandler (23-8 MMA) is set to get back in the Octagon to fight opposing TUF coach Conor McGregor (22-6 MMA) in 2024.

Chandler, 37, has only 1 victory in his last 4 fights in the cage. The Missourian last fought Dustin Poirier (29-8 MMA) in November of 2022 at UFC 281. The result was a submission win for ‘The Diamond’.

McGregor, 35, has been out of commission since his back-to-back losses against Dustin Poirier. The last time the Irishman saw victory was back in January of 2020 at UFC 246 when he defeated Donald Cerrone (36-17 MMA) by TKO.
