‘The Karate Hottie’ Michelle Waterson looking shredded ahead of UFC on FOX 24 fight
Michelle Waterson is set to take on Rose Namajunas this weekend in a women’s strawweight fight that could set up the winner to be a step closer to fighting for the title.
“The Karate Hottie” posted a photo to Instagram on Friday looking shredded for the UFC on FOX 24 fight coming up on Saturday night at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
Waterson said in the caption of her post, “Feeling amazing this morning thanks to @dranitadelprete @eatfitabq @teamturningpoint @dr.beauhightower @barleans and @onnit 😎😎😎 I got the best in my corner. Trying to get those @claudiagadelhaufc abs😉”
Currently ranked #6 in the official UFC rankings, Michelle Waterson holds a 14-4 professional mixed martial arts record and is 2-0 in the UFC. Waterson holds UFC wins over Angela Magana and most recently Paige VanZant, winning both fights by rear-naked choke submissions. Waterson made her UFC debut against Magana back in July of 2015 but was sidelined with injuries after that bout, which is the reason she has only had the two fights in the Octagon, coming up on her third this weekend with fighting for nearly three years with the promotion.
Rose Namajunas is currently ranked #4 in the official UFC rankings and is coming off a split decision loss to recent UFC strawweight title challenger Karolina Kowalkiewicz. Prior to the close fight with Kowalkiewicz, “Thug” Rose was on a three-fight winning streak picking up wins over Angela Hill, Paige VanZant, and Tecia Torres, finishing Hill and VanZant by rear-naked choke submissions.
Namajunas will be looking to secure the win to get another shot at fighting the top contenders in the division in hopes of getting a title shot while Waterson looks to leapfrog Namajunas in the ranks by getting her hand raised.
