Dana White says no to “Mickey” Gall’s walkout song

Mickey Gall had the perfect walkout song for his UFC 203 entrance, but UFC President Dana White had different ideas.
The 24-year-old, who is set to face CM Punk this Saturday, had chosen “Mickey” by Toni Basil, a cheery pop song from the eighties, however DW put that idea to rest.
The scene was captured on the latest episode of ‘UFC Embedded’ leading into this weekends event. Gall received the phone call from Dana White as the cameras were rolling.
“I was going to do my walkout song — ‘Hey, Mickey you’re so fine’ — cause that would have been awesome. But he wants something harder,” Gall said.
“Mickey” was a hit single by Basil back in 1981 with a cheerleader-themed music video, a far cry from the rap and metal songs that usually blast out the sound system during fighters’ walkouts. You can listen to Gall’s first walkout song choice above if you aren’t already familiar with the tune.
No word yet on what Gall’s replacement walkout song will be after Dana nixed “Mickey’s” first choice.
Gall (2-0) made his Octagon debut in February when he flattened Mike Jackson with an overhand before submitting him in just 45 seconds into the first round. UFC 203 will be both the UFC and MMA debut of CM Punk, a WWE superstar who was signed back at UFC 182.
