With just days to go until UFC 203, where 2-0 amateur MMA fighter Mickey Gall will welcome former WWE superstar CM Punk to the Octagon, a photo of Gall with stitches above his eyebrow had the MMA community in a frenzy. Despite the photos of Gall with stitches in his eyebrow, the fight proceeded as planned.

Wednesday afternoon, following his ‘UFC 203 open workout’, Mickey Gall addressed media members for a media scrum. It didn’t take long for Gall to be questioned about the stitches in his eyebrow.

The young star quickly responded with:

“No, do you see stitches? Rumors man, what stitches? I don’t have stitches. Do you see any? Right? Do you see anything?”

Gall went on to describe the feeling of being in the UFC, and being on the pay per-view portion of UFC 203 after just 2 professional fights, saying:

“It’s a big opportunity man. Lot of great MMA fighters will stay in obscurity. I’m being given the opportunity to fight a superstar. Lot of eyes on the main card. I’m on the damn poster, this is my second UFC fight. It’s crazy. I’mma make the most of it.”

Gall was signed to the UFC after UFC President Dana White saw the young star pick up a 1st round win on the regional scene as part of his “Lookin’ For A Fight” series. The UFC brass signed Gall with the intentions of having him fight CM Punk. Unfortunately a back injury delayed Punk’s debut. The UFC opted to book Gall to fight Mike Jackson, who he defeated via 1st round submission.

Will he be able to continue his win streak this Saturday when he fights CM Punk?
