Perry has ditched training at a gym and with coaches and instead will have his new girlfriend in his corner. For the fan-favorite welterweight, he says his girlfriend is enjoying fight week and getting to be the lone cornerman.

UFC welterweight star “Platinum” Mike Perry seems to have some new and fairly serious looking injuries, but he says his fight with Mickey Gall is still on. Perry, who is scheduled to fight Gall on June 27 at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, showed off his injuries on Instagram on Thursday, but did not provide any explanation as to their cause.

Darren Till has explained his reasons for creating a “Mike Perry Is A Bum” website. According to the British middleweight, barely anything is off-limits when it comes to mocking fighters. That includes creating a website, www.mikeperryisabum.com, and several social media accounts to mock his welterweight rival. Each platform that Till created featured images and videos of “Platinum” getting finished during fights. According to Till, mocking Mike Perry was all in good jest.

Perry is a mixed martial artist but as anyone who has watched his fights knows, he’s an extremely aggressive striker who relies primarily on his punching power. Chael Sonnen’s Submission Underground was back this Sunday in Portland for SUG 11. Submission Underground 11 was originally expected to see Gordon Ryan and Craig Jones as a tag team as Sonnen put up a $25,000 challenge for any two men who could beat them. Vinny Magalhaes and Kyle Boehm quickly stepped up for the challenge. Yet, Ryan had to pull out with an injury and was replaced by Nick Rodriguez.

UFC welterweight fan favorite Mike Perry says he is considering a move down to 155lbs after struggling in his last few fights at 170lbs. Perry has dropped back-to-back fights to Geoff Neal and Vicente Luque and overall has dropped five of his last seven fights at 170lbs. That’s part of why he is potentially considering a move down in weight to get a fresh start, though he’s not convinced he will be able to cut all that weight. Speaking on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, Perry spoke about moving down a weight class.
