Former UFC welterweight fan-favorite Mike Perry reacted after defeating Michael Seals by split decision at Triller Triad Combat. Perry was recently released by the UFC and he signed with Triller for this fight against Seals at the Triller Triad Combat event, which took place on Saturday at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas. The oddsmakers did not like Perry’s chances to win the fight as he entered as a +600 betting underdog, but Perry got the job done with the split decision win.

BKFC confirmed the signing on Tuesday via a press release. According to the release, Perry signed a multi-fight deal with the promotion but details of the contract were not released.

He is just 3-7 over his last 10 fights in the Octagon, including a 1-4 record in his last five fights. Moreover, Perry recently declined to fight Kevin Lee, which led to “The Motown Phenom” suggesting that “Platinum” should be removed from the UFC roster. Although Perry is currently in the midst of a losing skid, he is still a personal favorite of UFC president Dana White, which means that, like Sam Alvey, Perry will get another fight.

News of the Paul-Perry sparring session was not made public until former UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier suggested that the infamous YouTuber fight Mike Perry in his next boxing match.

On Sunday, UFC lightweight Dustin Poirier took to his social media to say that he hoped that Paul would fight Perry next. Paul then responded to Poirier as he posted a video of him and Perry doing some sparring, with “Platinum” being heard telling Jake that he kicked his ass during their session. The two have done some sparring in preparation for this fight but typically, you don’t tell the public what happened in those sparring sessions. In this case, Paul posted the video with the words coming out of Perry’s mouth, so it was hard for “Platinum” to deny that it happened. Instead, Perry embraced what Paul had tweeted.

Even though Paul doesn’t get a ton of respect from the combat sports community, everyone knows that he is a huge name and a big draw. At this point, Paul is one of the biggest stars in combat sports just three fights into his boxing career. If you are lucky enough to get booked to fight against Paul, then you stand to make a lot of money.
