The all-action UFC welterweight is hoping for a return to action at UFC 226, which goes down on July 7 in the fight hub of Las Vegas, Nevada. Better yet, he’s keen to make the UFC matchmakers’ job very easy, as he has called out a fellow knockout specialist in Emil “Valhalla” Meek.

Perry made this fantastic callout on his official Twitter account.

“I want to fight [Emil Meek] in Las Vegas on July 7,” he said in his Tweet.

When we last saw Perry in action, he gave up a decision to rising welterweight Max Griffin. This loss was preceded by a close decision defeat to top-10 welterweight Santiago Ponzinibbio. Prior to his loss to Ponzinibbio, Perry was on an impressive, two-fight streak composed of thunderous knockouts of Jake Ellenberger and Alex Reyes. He’s currently 11-3 overall.

Meek, meanwhile, last fought in December, when he came up short to surging welterweight contender Kamaru Usman. This loss was preceded by an impressive defeat of Canadian veteran Jordan Mein in his UFC debut. Meek burst into the MMA limelight in 2016, when he thumped UFC and WSOF veteran Rousimar Palhares to a knockout win in just 45 seconds. He’s 9-3 in sum.

UFC 226 will be headlined by a heavyweight superfight between divisional kingpin Stipe Miocic and a beefed up version of the UFC light heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier. At present, no other bouts have been confirmed for the card, though that is likely to change very soon.
