Dana White discredits Nate Diaz claim to more PPV points

It’s no secret that UFC President Dana White and UFC superstar Nate Diaz don’t exactly see eye to eye on everything. With that being said, the Diaz brothers and UFC President Dana White have been engaged in several public arguments with their employers over the course of their UFC careers.

Currently, both Diaz brothers have proven to be content with sitting out and competing in triathlons rather than signing contracts to return to the Octagon. During a recent appearance on The MMA Hour, Nate Diaz explained that if he is going to fight in the Octagon, he would like to receive pay-per view points.

That didn’t sit too well with UFC President Dana White, who infamously stated at one point that Diaz wasn’t a pay-per view draw. Now, White believes that Diaz isn’t a pay-per view draw without UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor.

He spoke to Yahoo Sports:

“Whatever his deal is, he’s got a pretty good deal,” White said. “I mean, listen, at the end of the day, what is Diaz worth without Conor McGregor? I don’t know. The kid isn’t in a position for pay-per-view or any of that type of [stuff]. But this could put him in a position. If he fought Tony Ferguson, it would be for the interim title.

“Obviously, if you held the interim title, you would get a piece of the pay-per-view. Diaz has to put himself in a position to make the pay-per-view money.”

“It doesn’t frustrate me at all [that they’re inactive] because I’ve learned that you can’t make people fight, man.”

While the Diaz brothers have never stated that they are retiring from MMA, Nate did reveal that the pair would be taking the rest of 2017 off given their competitive triathlon race schedule throughout the rest of the year.
