Nate Diaz blasts Dana White for lying about fight offers

Despite being one of the most popular fighters on the UFC roster, Stockton, California’s Nate Diaz has not been seen in the cage since he gave up a competitive decision to Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 202 back in August.

In a recent interview with TMZ, UFC President Dana White said that the UFC has attempted to correct Diaz’s long absence from the cage by making him several fight offers, but that he has turned them all down. The UFC boss then suggested that this is because Diaz is holding out for a third fight with McGregor.

“We keep offering Nate fights, and he keeps turning them down,” White said. “I have no idea [why].”

“Maybe he is,” he then added when asked if Diaz was waiting for a trilogy fight with the Irishman.

Apparently, these claims did not go over well with Diaz. The fan favorite recently took to Twitter to share some thoughts on the UFC President’s comments:

“This f*cker can’t stop making shit up about me,” he said of White. “I haven’t been offered any fights except the one I laughed at.”

Prior to his August loss to McGregor, Diaz shocked the world by submitting McGregor in the second round of their first fight, which occurred in March of 2016. This win, meanwhile, was preceded by a decision defeat of lightweight contender Michael Johnson.

McGregor, meanwhile, followed his decision defeat of Diaz with a second-round knockout of Eddie Alvarez, which earned him the UFC lightweight title. At the moment, the Irish star is transfixed on the possibility of a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather.

Do you think Nate Diaz will return to the cage for anything other than a Conor McGregor rematch? Sound off, PENN Nation!
