Nate Diaz not happy with with how things played out at the UFC 25 Year press conference

The day after Dustin Poirier vs Nate Diaz gets made, the UFC seems to have possibly found a way to upset the returning party.

Nate Diaz

That being none other than Stockton, California’s finest in the younger of the two Diaz brothers.

Diaz hasn’t fought since his second encounter with Conor McGregor at UFC 202 in August 2016 when he was on the wrong end of a majority decision.

Today at the UFC’s big 25 Year Anniversary press conference. Officially announced were some upcoming matchups, including the highly anticipated lightweight title fight between McGregor and the champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

However, as the UFC announced the fight at the end of the conference, Diaz was reportedly seen storming out of the presser and then tweeted out saying, “I’m not fighting on that show fuk the @ufc”.

Speculation is that Diaz may be upset that his fight with Poirier that is set for UFC 230 on November 3rd is separate from Nurmagomedov vs McGregor (UFC 229, October 6th).

Whether or not Diaz was told that both fights would be on the same card is unknown. But UFC 230 in Madison Square Garden is still lacking a main event.

Diaz also happened to be caught on video as he was leaving the area and had the following to say.

“F*ck, man I don’t know. We’ll have to see if I’m even fightin’. They better start actin’ right. They brought me into this press conference late.”

The press conference was indeed supposed to start at 1:30 PM PST but was delayed until about 2:00. Then when it did start, all fighters squared off and sat down with the exception of Diaz who White quickly addressed saying that he just arrived.

Surely this is nothing new for Diaz to present his anger towards the UFC for one reason or another and if it will mean anything going forward remains to be determined.
