Nate Diaz reportedly passes UFC 202 drug test, not out of the woods yet

Last month, the UFC held arguably the biggest rematch in the history of the sport as Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor stepped into the Octagon in the main event of UFC 202.

The fight, which served as McGregor’s shot at redemption after being submitted by Diaz at UFC 196 earlier this year, was one of the biggest UFC Pay-Per View events of all time. After 5 hard fought rounds, McGregor was awarded the majority decision win.

Following the fight, Nate Diaz sparked quite a bit of controversy as he attended the UFC 202 post-fight press conference while smoking a CBD Vape Pen. While vape pens are generally an alternative to cigarettes, Diaz’s was filled with cannibidiol oil, a marijuana alternative.

Given that it was still technically fight night, and Diaz had just admitted using a substance which is banned out-of-competition by the World Anti-Doping Agency, many expected the Nevada State Athletic Commission to drop the hammer on the Stockton superstar.

Shortly after the incident, it was revealed that the NSAC would not be going after Diaz for the incident, and would not be looking to penalize Diaz given that he was smoking the pen after his post-fight drug test.

With that being said, the US Anti-Doping Agency was still “looking into” the situation at the time that USADA cleared Diaz of any wrongdoing.

Now, according to a report from MMAMania, it has been revealed that Diaz has passed his post-fight drug test for UFC 202. With that being said, according to the report, Diaz’s admission of smoking CBD oil could fall under the “admitted use” clause given that the oil is a banned substance in-competition.
