Nate Diaz: ‘Since that last fight, have you heard any praise for me from Dana White or the UFC?’
Nate Diaz won the biggest fight of his life at UFC 196 against superstar Conor McGregor.
However, the UFC veteran who holds the record for the most combined “Fight of the Night” and “Performance of the Night” bonuses in the history of the promotion at a total of 14 feels like he hasn’t been getting the credit he deserves.
Diaz spoke with ESPN on how he feels about the rematch with Conor McGregor, which will headline the UFC 200 card in July.
“I swear to God, the UFC thinks it was an accident or something,” Diaz, 30, told ESPN.com. “They think it was an accident, and now they’re saying, ‘Let’s get Nate back in there and take him out before he gets any bigger.’
“I don’t think so. I’ve fought everyone in the UFC, and they better give me some m—–f—— compliments if I win this fight.”
While many have spoken of the courage and game attitude of McGregor for fighting up two weight classes and taking on a different opponent than the one he trained all camp for, Diaz is sick of hearing it.
“Since that last fight, have you heard any praise for me from Dana or the UFC? None at all,” Diaz told ESPN.com. “How much praise has that m—–f—– got? I’ve never lost a fight and not wanted to fight the guy 10 minutes later. The UFC is pumping him up again, saying he wants to redeem himself and giving him all this credit for it. It’s like, dude, I’ve been obsessed with every fight I’ve ever lost. This is a gift for him to get it right away.
“He’s saying he’s obsessed? Welcome to my life, m—–f—–. That’s the game, and I’ve never gotten my losses back.”
