Tony Ferguson went off on Nate Diaz, Ali Abdelaziz and Conor McGregor this evening. But it was the Stockton native who received the most attention. Ferguson (25-5 MMA) is set to return to the Octagon on May 15 at UFC 262, a fight card that is now co-headlined by Nate Diaz vs. Leon Edwards.

UFC welterweight superstar Nate Diaz says that he can see, hear and feel the hate following the announcement of the Leon Edwards booking. Diaz hasn’t fought since November 2019 when he lost via TKO (doctor stoppage) to Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244. We haven’t heard much of the Stockton native lately, but then last week the UFC made the surprising announcement that he will be fighting Edwards in the co-main event of UFC 262 on May 15 in Houston, Texas. This will be the first time in UFC history that a non-title, co-main event is set for five rounds, and it’s an indication that the winner of Diaz vs. Edwards will be next in line to fight for the UFC welterweight title.

Leon Edwards has shared his prediction for this months highly anticipated title fight rematch between Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal. Usman (18-1 MMA) and Masvidal (35-14 MMA) are set to throw down for a second time in the headliner of UFC 261 on April 24. The pair initially collided at UFC 251 in July of 2020, with ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ retaining his welterweight title by way of unanimous decision.

UFC welterweight contender Leon Edwards reacted after the promotion booked his five-round, co-main event fight against Nate Diaz at UFC 262. The UFC announced this week that Edwards vs. Diaz will take place on May 15 in Houston, Texas. In a UFC first, the fight will be a five-round co-main event, with the winner surely being in the mix to fight the winner of the UFC 261 main event between Jorge Masvidal and Kamaru Usman. With Edwards vs. Diaz now official, “Rocky” took to his social media over the last couple of days to share his initial reactions to what is arguably the biggest fight of his career to date. UFC welterweight superstar Nate Diaz took to social media to take another shot at Conor McGregor and he also took aim at Dustin Poirier. Diaz and Poirier were supposed to meet at UFC 230 in November 2018 but “The Diamond” was forced to pull out with injury. They never ended up meeting, but after Poirier defeated McGregor at UFC 257 in January, Diaz suggested that the fight to make was him against Poirier. However, that fight never happened, either, as McGregor and Poirier will run it back for a third time this summer at UFC 264. Diaz, meanwhile, was recently booked for his comeback fight against Leon Edwards in the co-main event of UFC 262 in May in Houston.

UFC 262 is looking like one of the most stacked cards of the year – especially after the addition of Nate Diaz vs Leon Edwards. The news broke overnight that Diaz will be returning to the Octagon in order to face Edwards in what could, essentially, be a No. 1 contender fight. UFC welterweight contender Vicente Luque called out Nate Diaz following his first-round submission win over Tyron Woodley at UFC 260. Luque picked up the biggest win of his UFC career to date when he submitted Woodley in the co-main event of UFC 260 with a D’arce choke. It was a wild fight for as long as it lasted, with Woodley landing a big punch early on that rocked Luque, only to see the Brazilian come back and hurt Woodley on the feet before taking him to the ground and finishing him by submission. It’s the kind of marquee win that Luque needs in order to fight the upper echelon of the UFC welterweight division as he continues to march towards the title. But before a title shot comes, Luque wants to take a money fight against Diaz first.
