Dana White responds to reports of Nate Diaz UFC 227 comeback fight: Nothing is going on
Tom Taylor - May 3, 2018
Last week, reports surfaced suggesting that Nate Diaz was in talks with the UFC about a potential return to the cage at UFC 227 this August 4 in Los Angeles. These reports generated widespread excitement inside the MMA bubble. Unfortunately, UFC President Dana White has now poked holes in them, assuring that the UFC offers Diaz a fight every few months, and that there’s nothing in motion with respect to his fighting at UFC 227.
Report | Nate Diaz and UFC discussing UFC 227 return bout
Tom Taylor - May 1, 2018
Nate Diaz‘s return to the Octagon is one of the most talked about topics in MMA. That said, discussion about the fan favorite’s return have always been mired in the realm of the hypothetical, as he and the UFC can never seem to agree on the pertinent details of his comeback. From the sounds of it, that could change this summer. According to a report from ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Diaz and the UFC have recently been in communication surrounding a potential return to action at UFC 227, which is targeted for August 4th in Los Angeles, California. According to Okamoto’s report, the two parties discussed this date as recently as last week.
Nate Diaz burns Conor McGregor, says Brooklyn rampage was imitation of Strikeforce brawl
Tom Taylor - April 18, 2018
The reaction to Conor McGregor‘s insane rampage in Brooklyn, during which the Irishman threw a dolly threw the window of a shuttle bus and injured several fighters, was mostly negative. Surprisingly, however, McGregor’s arch rival Nate Diaz initially reacted with a degree of understanding. In his first reaction to the madness, Diaz suggested that McGregor’s actions were justified, as Khabib Nurmagomedov had cornered McGregor’s friend and training partner Artem Lobov earlier in the week.

Injured Tony Ferguson rips back at Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz
Russell Sai - April 3, 2018
It is still hard to believe that Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov will not be fighting this weekend at UFC 223. Ferguson was involved in a “freak accident” and suffered an injury on Friday at a “UFC-obligated media event” where he tore a ligament in his knee. Ferguson was forced to pull out of the main event fight taking place this weekend against Nurmagomedov, which marks the fourth time that a UFC matchup between the two UFC lightweights has been canceled.

Jon Anik Believes Nate Diaz Moves The Needle Even Without Conor McGregor
Justin Golightly - March 9, 2018
We haven’t seen Nate Diaz since he won the Conor McGregor lottery twice. We haven’t seen Nick Diaz for way longer. It’s understandable. For selfish reasons, we’d love to see the Stockton soldiers back in the Octagon slapping their opponents, but both are making a good living with a wide variety of sponsors, endorsements, appearances and seminars. If they did come back, Jon Anik is convinced that they would put a significant boost in pay-per-view draws, with or without McGregor. “If you’re asking me, I think [Nate Diaz] is a top five pay-per-view draw in the company right now. I think Daniel Cormier is in that mix because he’s been buoyed by the two Jon Jones fights. But I think Nate Diaz can carry a pay-per-view without Conor McGregor. Will he be afforded that opportunity? I don’t know. I’m not sure we’re going to see Nick [Diaz] again, but I definitely think we are going to see Nate Diaz. I think it’s interesting when you talk about him as a pay-per-view draw. What do the internal metrics say about how much Nate Diaz moves that needle relative to his opponent Conor McGregor?”
Fight Think: The Starting Line-Up of UFC's Hypothetical 165 Division
Justin Golightly - February 24, 2018
After a wild firestorm created by Conor McGregor revealing that he offered to step in to fight Frankie Edgar at UFC 222, fans were baffled and Edgar’s coach and manager were pissed off to say the least. After refuting McGregor’s claims, Edgar’s manager Ali Abdel-Aziz said he requested a new division be created: The 165-pound division. This isn’t the first time the weight class has been talked about. Super lightweight interests more than just the Champ Champ™ supposedly looking for a third title, there’s a whole potential top five who are waiting for it to be formed. When conor called the ufc he asked them create a 165lb belt. He thinks @danawhite was born yesterday. This is fact. Waiting for response Mr. Helwani. #BeefIsReal
VIDEO | Dana White Thinks Nick Diaz is More Interested in Fighting Than Nate Diaz
Justin Golightly - February 24, 2018
The UFC has been playing the hot and cold game with Nate Diaz for as long as grizzled veteran MMA fans can remember. It wasn’t until he took out Conor McGregor and then fought him again, earning the first and second place of most pay-per-view buys of all-time, that Diaz was able to play the game back. He had leverage and still does. Despite a back-and-forth about a possible Tyron Woodley fight, White doesn’t believe he’ll return unless it’s to finish the trilogy with McGregor. Older brother Nick Diaz though, may be a different story. “The thing is for Nate Diaz, We’ve been offering Nate Diaz fights, Nate doesn’t want to fight and right now Nate isn’t in line for a title shot. [Rafael] dos Anjos just beat Robbie Lawler, which is a big deal, and was very impressive in how he did it. He deserves the fight [with Tyron Woodley]. […] We’ve been offering [Diaz] fights. Guys don’t just come out and say, ‘Yeah, I want fights’ and then we don’t react on it. We’ve been hitting him up since the last time he fought, offering him fights and he’s not interested in fighting.”
3 Matchups For Donald Cerrone's Return To The Lightweight Division
Jordan Colbert - February 22, 2018
In the main event of the UFC’s Sunday return to Austin, Texas, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone rebounded from a three-fight skid with a first-round TKO victory over Yancy Medeiros, who was riding a three-fight win streak coming into his first ever UFC Main Event contest. Following the bout, Cerrone was relieved to have finally gotten back in the win column and, when asked what was next for the man tied for the most wins in UFC history, he set the record straight. He intends to return to the UFC’s lightweight division for one last run at the title. In particular, Cerrone called out Khabib Nurmagomedov, a fighter he was scheduled to fight against in May of 2015 before Nurmagomedov withdrew due to injury. Nurmagomedov is currently scheduled for a main event bout at UFC 223 against current interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson, so that bout is unlikely, but there are many other matchups at lightweight that fans could easily get behind for Donald Cerrone.

BREAKING | Conor McGregor's Coach Eyes A Potential Fight with Nate Diaz on New Year's Eve
Justin Golightly - February 15, 2018
All things come full circle. We’ve been awaiting Conor McGregor’s triumphant return to the UFC, but way back before the sweat dried from his boxing bout with Floyd Mayweather, Nate Diaz was expected to be his opponent when he came back. A lot has gone on since then, but now it seems the interest has been renewed along with Diaz’s anticipated return as well. However, there is a catch. While McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh would love a giant conclusion to their trilogy, he says that the winner between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson is next in line. “There’s a beautiful relationship between Conor [McGregor] and Nate [Diaz], in terms of there [being] a great back and forth between them outside of the cage and inside of the cage. It’s a lovely fight. His five-round rematch is still one of my favorite fights. That being said, I did assume that Nate would be as busy, or busier, than Conor. You know, Conor’s had an MMA fight and a boxing fight since. We haven’t seen Nate since so I started changing. You could see it among the fans who, I’ve always said and I still do believe, are the most important factor because they pay for the pay-per-views they want to see.”
New Training Partner Drops Tease About Nate Diaz's Next Fight
Justin Golightly - February 13, 2018
The plot continually thickens on the mystery of Nate Diaz potentially fighting Tyron Woodley. It was talking about, debated about, then put to rest. However, all of the sudden it looked like an option once again, until it was squashed by Dana White, which resulted in Woodley himself calling the man a liar. The most recent development is this curious post of Nor-Cal Fighting Alliance’s Jordan Williams. He was specifically chosen by Nate Diaz to prep him for his next fight. “I am not going to lie, it feels pretty damn good when someone as good as caliber as Nate Diaz makes a special request for you to train with them to make sure they get a good look for a future fight that’s most likely going to happen. When you are preparing for war, it is best to practice your fight strategies against the highest level lieutenants in the army that you have. Thank you Nate Diaz for rolling up to Petaluma and getting that work put in with the squad.” – Jordan Williams via his official Instagram.
Nate Diaz Joins Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather's Social Media Beef
Tom Taylor - February 12, 2018
Over the last few months, there has been an eruption of buzz surrounding undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather’s possible move to MMA. Of course, the chances of Mayweather actually moving to MMA seem almost non-existent, but the boxer has been having some fun playing with the idea on social media anyway, and his arch rival Conor McGregor has not shied away from getting involved in the conversation. Mayweather’s latest MMA-related social media post occurred over the weekend, when he posted a photoshopped image of himself elbowing Conor McGregor, inside an MMA cage, clad in TMT-branded MMA gloves.
Rafael dos Anjos Blasts Tyron Woodley for 'Running Away From Logic' for Nate Diaz Fight
Justin Golightly - February 9, 2018
Rafael dos Anjos and Tyron Woodley have gone back and forth since Nate Diaz strutted back into fight talks with his signature scowling face. It’s easy to see why, of course. Dos Anjos wants the title shot promised to him, while Tyron Woodley ‘just wants to make money’ according to the former UFC lightweight champion. …But isn’t that what prize fighting is about? Not to dos Anjos it is not. To be fair, Tyron Woodley was willing to fight Diaz at a catchweight with no title on the line, but dos Anjos thinks either that that this match-up is against all logic. “Tyron Woodley is only thinking about money. Of course that everybody wants to make money and needs money, but he’s running away from logic. He’s trying to force his hand and making a fight that makes no sense. [Nate Diaz] can’t fight in this weight class and Woodley is trying to force this fight. He was willing to fight Nate Diaz while injured, needing to undergo surgery, because he knows it’s an easy fight and he can win without one arm. I think it’s wrong to hold the entire division like this. He’s trying to get an easy fight and stay on his TV and radio shows as a champion, he wants this status.”
Tyron Woodley responds to Rafael dos Anjos' criticisms: go fight "Qweefington"
Tom Taylor - February 7, 2018
Last night, UFC welterweight champ Tyron Woodley divulged to ESPN‘s Brett Okamoto that he believes his next fight will be against Nate Diaz. “I think that fight will happen,” he said. “I think it will happen this year. I think it’s way more likely than people realize. There are conversations about Nate and I fighting in July. The UFC has offered Nate that fight. They just have to make it worth his while.”
Nate Diaz would fight Eddie Alvarez in a bathroom, but not on PPV
Tom Taylor - February 7, 2018
Last night, long-time UFC lightweight contender Nate Diaz spoke with ESPN‘s Brett Okamoto, confirming that he is interested in a showdown with UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. Apparently, however, Diaz discussed far more than just a fight with Woodley.
