Sports analyst Shannon Sharpe claims Nate Diaz will never make 155 again
There seems to be a bit of confusion surrounding UFC star Nate Diaz and his weight.
“Undisputed” sports analyst co-host, Shannon Sharpe said on a recent episode that Diaz could not make the lightweight limit of 155 pounds, even after Diaz has fought the majority of his career in the lightweight division.
“Nate Diaz can’t go lower than 170, Skip,” Sharpe said. “He not going to 155. He definitely can’t go to 145. If he can’t make 155, there’s no way he’s going to fight McGregor at 145,” Sharpe commented about a potential trilogy fight between the two UFC rivals.

Sharpe followed up with comments on twitter maintaining his belief that Diaz will never be able to make 155 again.
A fan tweeted to Sharpe, “Diaz is a natural 155 do your homework damn.” Sharpe replied, “He’s not making that weight again.”

Another fan tweeted to Sharpe, “@NateDiaz209 is a 155 pound fighter! He’s not all big like Dana makes him.” Sharpe replied, “That takes too much out of Diaz to make weight. 170 for both.”

Nate Diaz did put on a lot of weight with his two last fights at 170 against McGregor. Prior to the UFC 202 rematch against “The Notorious,” Diaz was said to weigh nearly 200 pounds.
Diaz stated that he wanted the rematch with McGregor to be at 155 so that people could stop using the excuse that he was two weight classes above McGregor. In the end, the rematch took place at 170 where McGregor was awarded a majority decision win after five round of war in the Octagon.
Nate Diaz has yet to comment on Sharpe’s belief that he will never be able to make 155 pounds, but he surely made it clear ahead of UFC 202.
Do you think Nate Diaz will return to the lightweight division? Conor McGregor mentioned a potential lightweight title fight against Diaz in a recent interview with The LAD Bible. McGregor said, “there could be a potential fight maybe down the line for the lightweight belt after I win this one.”
One thing we know for sure about Nate Diaz is that he wants his third fight with Conor McGregor.
