“I’m 100 [percent] down to fight next year.

Next year, bro. Anybody. Fighting everybody…next year. Yup. [Georges St-Pierre] already says he’s gonna fight. I win if he don’t cheat. If he don’t miss weight like he did last time and it was like a fair fight.

I was framed [in the arrest] *laughs*.”

It’s been a bit of a wild time for Nick Diaz lately. And not for any sort of good reasons.

Recently, the older Diaz brother was arrested on charges of alleged domestic violence. The former Strikeforce welterweight champion hasn’t fought since 2015 when he suffered an initial loss to Anderson Silva.

He was accused of felony domestic battery by strangulation, along with a misdemeanor domestic battery for the alleged incident.

Disturbing details from the incident include the following: the victims hip was broken. Diaz allegedly choked her unconscious then fought the police which is the reason for 12 police cars being sent. Then lastly, he fought the CO’s inside Clark Co Detention Center.

Diaz stating that he will be returning to fighting comes as somewhat of a surprise as he’s been content with not fighting unless it’s for a big fight. Which who knows if he’ll be able to land in the future.

Specifically mentioned by the Stockton native was former two-division UFC champion, Georges St-Pierre who Diaz lost to in March 2013.

St-Pierre looking for a big fight upon his return as well has made it clear that he’s only interested in doing things that have never been done before and that of which will be big legacy impactors for him. So it’s hard to imagine rematching someone that he beat dominantly would be one of those things.
