The Singapore-based promotion has signed a three-year broadcast deal with Turner Sports. This deal will commence on January 1, and will see 24 events air on TNT, as well as on other Turner Sports platforms such a the streaming service B/R Live. This deal will also include additional ONE Championship programming, including a reality show, which Sityodtong began teasing ahead of ONE: Heart of the Lion in early November.
The first event to be televised on TNT is scheduled for Jan. 19 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The card, titled ONE: Eternal Glory, will be headlined by a strawweight title rematch between Team Lakay based champion Joshua Pacio (16-2), and the last man he lost to, Japan’s Hayato Suzuki (20-1-2).
Expect this massive deal to be made official by Chatri Sityodtong and ONE Championship in the very near future.
ONE Championship has had an absolutely massive year. In addition to high profile signings of stars like Demetrious Johnson, Eddie Alvarez and Sage Northcutt, and the hiring of former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate as a commentator and executive, this year also saw the promotion launch the ONE Super Series, which has showcased the best in striking martial arts like Muay Thai, kickboxing and even boxing.
