Ovince Saint Preux releases statement on ‘incredible opportunity’ at UFC 197
Ovince Saint Preux (19-7 MMA) will take the biggest fight of his MMA career on shot-notice at this month’s UFC 197 event in Las Vegas when he squares off with former title holder Jon Jones for the promotions interim light heavyweight strap.
“OSP” has gone 3-1 in his past four octagon appearances. His most recent effort saw him score a unanimous decision victory over former Strikeforce champ Rafael Cavalcante at February’s UFC Fight Night 82 event. Prior to that, Saint Preux was submitted in the third-round by Glover Teixeira at UFC Fight Night 73. “OSP” also holds two first-round knockout victories over “Shogun” Rua and Patrick Cummins in his past four fights.
Saint Preux sent out the following tweet thanking the UFC for the opportunity to fight Jones at UFC 197:
Big thanks to the @ufc for this incredible opportunity. One question: You down with #OSP? #UFC197 @KnoxMma #RQQ #VFL pic.twitter.com/jMsfrWiu30
