During today’s UFC 196 press conference, UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor ripped in to Nate Diaz with the following statement: “Now as the fight comes closer Nate is acting like a scared little boy. Trying to pass the spotlight off to big brother Nick. Trying to pass the spotlight off to Gracie. Nate is trying to pass the limelight. That’s what a man does when he’s scared. He shy’s away and tries to pass it on. So that’s what you’re seeing with Nate. He’s talked a lot previous, saying he’s going to do this and going to do that. Now we are up here and we are doing this and he is saying absolutely nothing. He’s sitting in a little shell. So let’s see what he’s got. He even tried to pick on Jon Anik the other day. He has a bully mentality until a real man shows up. Like Mike Tyson said, ‘He’s scared of the real man!’”

Conor McGregor stated recently that he locked into a fight at UFC 200, however an opponent has not been chosen. Leading up to UFC 200, there’s much speculation as to who Conor McGregor will face at UFC 200. With his UFC 196 fight against Nate Diaz being a welterweight scrap, there’s many wondering if McGregor will face Robbie Lawler at UFC 200.

Leading up to UFC 196 on Saturday, Jon Anik revealed that he believes Conor McGregor will defeat Nate Diaz in the main event. Despite being a fan of Diaz, Anik was so confident that McGregor would win that he stated he would get a ‘209’ tattoo on his forearm if Diaz won.

The much talked about fight between Kimbo Slice and Dada 5000 took place nearly two weeks ago on Feb. 19 at Bellator 149 and Dada 5000 has just been released from the hospital being admitted immediately after the fight. The lackluster fight ended with both opponents heavily gassed out with Kimbo ending the fight by TKO in the third round.

While CM Punk is currently signed to the UFC, he has yet to sign a contact and receive an official fight date. After Mickey Gall defeated Mike Jackson last month, the pair were expected to fight at UFC 200, however Punk was forced to undergo back surgery, further delaying his UFC debut once again. Despite all of that, Punk will make his UFC debut once he is healed.

Top ranked welterweights Matt Brown and Tyron Woodley got into quite the heated Twitter feud recently after Brown stated that McGregor deserves a welterweight title shot more than Woodley does. That did’t sit too well with Woodley, who fired back, igniting a Twitter feud between the pair.

It looks like UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor’s choice to give Nate Diaz their fight at welterweight may have been a planned tactic for a fight with UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler. “I mean, why not? That’s probably the leading option,” McGregor said during the open workouts on Wednesday (transcribed by MMA Fighting).

After it was announced that Nate Diaz would be stepping in for Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 196, the UFC held a ‘UFC 196: McGregor vs. Diaz’ press conference the very next day. McGregor and Diaz put on a verbal show for the fans as they talked trash for nearly 30 minutes straight! Over the course of the press conference, McGregor called Diaz a “cholo” and mocked him for teaching Jiu-Jitsu seminars to kids.
