BOXING BEAT: Golovkin Thinks Lemieux's Power Will Only Get Him So Far

BJPENN.COM News - October 8, 2015

On Oct. 17 in their HBO pay-per-view fight at Madison Square Garden in New York, IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux will look to pull off an upset and take out IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin. Jon Fitch: 'I Broke GSP When We Fought'

BJPENN.COM News - October 7, 2015

“I think that I broke him in that fight. He never fought the same way again. He started fighting very safe, very cautious. He stopped finishing people. I think I got into his head that fight, and that’s why I wanted to fight him again so bad. That first fight I had zero defense on the feet. Everything he threw landed.”

Palhares Wants Out Of WSOF, Asks NSAC To 'Judge Me As I Should Be Judged'

BJPENN.COM News - October 6, 2015

Former UFC fighter Rousimar Palhares was stripped of his World Series of Fighting welterweight title and suspended indefinitely following his most recent fight against Jake Shields. In that fight he repeatedly put his fingers near Shields’ eye and seemed to scratch, or gauge them. Even after the referee warned him he continued to do so. Then, during the fight ending kimura he locked in on Shields, he refused to let go after Shields tapped and the referee tried to pull him away. Palhares has had issues with holding submissions too long in the past and WSOF had seen enough. Now, he waits for his disciplinary hearing with the Nevada State Athletic Commission, which is expected to go down sometime this month. Palhares recently talked to MMAFighting and said that he just hopes the commission treats him fairly.
